Scope of Services—Includes the details of all the work to be carried out
Abundance Accountancy will prepare and submit your self-assessment tax return based on the information and documents you provide. We do not audit or independently verify the information supplied.
Client Responsibilities
To ensure the accuracy and timely completion of your return, you are responsible for providing us with the following information and documentation:
- All income sources (e.g., salary slips, P60s, rental income records)
- Evidence for all business expenses you wish to claim (e.g., receipts, invoices)
- Details of any capital gains or losses incurred
- Personal details, including National Insurance number and bank account information (if applicable for refunds)
- Any other relevant information that may affect your tax liability
Accountant Responsibilities
We will deal with all communications relating to your personal tax returns, including the submissions of your tax return.
We will provide our professional services with reasonable care and skill. However, we will not be responsible for any losses, penalties, surcharges, interest, or additional tax liabilities arising from the supply by you or others of incorrect or incomplete information, or your or others’ failure to supply any appropriate information, or your failure to act on our advice, or your failure to respond promptly to communications from us or the tax authorities.
Fees & Payment
Our fee for preparing and filing your self-assessment tax return will be automatically calculated based on the information provided in this form.
The total payable amount will be displayed prior to submission and payment.
Any additional work required due to increased complexity, incomplete information, or changes in scope may result in additional charges, which will be communicated to you in advance.
If we are required to withdraw from an engagement because the financial information provided is misleading or incomplete, we will not issue a report.
In such circumstances, our fees for work carried out up to the date of withdrawal will remain payable.
Limitation of Liability
As financial accountants, we have a duty of care to you, and we must observe the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Our services to you will only be completed by an accountant who is fully competent to perform such work and who holds current professional indemnity insurance.
Where any loss or damage occurs as the result of you providing misleading, incomplete, or false information, no liability will be accepted.
The advice we give is not to be used by a third party without written consent. The practice also accepts no legal responsibility from third-party use of the financial information provided to us.
Confidentiality
All client information will be treated as confidential, except where disclosure is required by law.
Termination
Either party may terminate the engagement in writing, subject to outstanding fees.
Complaints and disputes
In the event of any dispute arising from this engagement, we encourage open communication to find a mutually agreeable solution. If a resolution cannot be reached, you may refer the matter to the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) or another relevant professional body for mediation or arbitration.
Continuity Arrangements
If we become unable to provide the services agreed upon through incapacity or death, a continuity arrangement has been made with a local accountancy firm. The purpose of this arrangement is to look after your interests by providing continuity of services. You will be contacted in the event of such circumstances arising, and you will have the option to decline to be covered by these arrangements.
